Youth Volunteers & Student Internships
Pro Kids provides numerous opportunities to members to give back to their community and learn the value of service. Students who are in Level 2 and above earn PRO points for their participation in regularly scheduled community service activities and events. You can sign up for these activities through the Learning Center. If you want to get involved further at Pro Kids, below provides more information on youth volunteer opportunities.
Looking to give back to your community, want to earn community service hours for college, or need to fulfill a school community service requirement, Pro Kids members can sign up to become Youth Volunteers. In order to become a Youth Volunteer you must complete an application. You can apply online (click here for City Heights application or click here for the Oceanside application) or pick one up at the facility. Completed applications can be turned in to City Heights Program Director, Chris Mathes or Oceanside Program Director, Penny Ranftle at Pro Kids Oceanside by email, fax, or in-person. Once your application is received you will be contacted to set up an interview with the program manager. Youth volunteer positions are limited to Pro Kids members and are not guaranteed. Members are encouraged to apply well in advance of their requirement deadline.
Several student internship positions are available throughout the year for members in their junior and senior years of high school. Members interested in applying for an internship position must first complete the youth volunteer application (see above for the applications). Completed applications can be turned in to Chris Mathes at Pro Kids - City Heights or Penny Ranftle at Pro Kids - Oceanside by email, fax, or in-person. There are a limited number of internship positions available each year and members are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
