  • Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Pro Kids Celebrates Dinner honoring Jay Rains on Wednesday! The event was a big success netting $106,000 for Pro Kids. The kids participated in a skit about Jay's life based on the movie Caddyshack and some of Jay's friends had the opportunity to speak. Thank you to Presenting Sponsor QUALCOMM, Inc., Eagle Sponors DLA Piper, Dowling & Yahnke LLC, and Life Technologies, and Birdie Sponsors Ernst & Young, Fish & Richardson, Holly McGrath & David Bruce, The Jack in the Box Foundation, Town & Country, and Wells FargoClick here to view photos from the event.

  • Councilmember Marti Emerald's staff toured, had lunch, and volunteered at Pro Kids on February 23. The group volunteered with Level 1 golf class, did a read-a-thon with the kids, and helped with an art project. Pro Kids is so thankful for this visit and for all the support Councilmember Emerald gives Pro Kids. Click here to view photos from the visit.

  • On February 12, Pro Kids had the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at FedExs Air Cargo division at Lindbergh Field. Members met with the ground crew and learned all about the day-to-day operations before meeting up with FedEx pilot Roy Akana (proud parent of Pro Kids member Reece). Mr. Akana took the kids through a walkaround of the jet, up into its cargo bays, and finally even into the cockpit, where our members got to sit at the controls! It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and something the kids will always remember.

  • The Pro Kids/The Crosby Home & Home was on February 20 and 21. It sure was exciting to record a hole-in-one on both days! Pro Kids member Said Shaba got his ninth hole-in-one on his home course at Colina Park and Pro Kids member Rachel Williamson got a hole-in-one at The Crosby. The tournament ended with a putt-off between Pro Kids members Matthew Borja and Robert Santos and Robert took the victory. Pro Kids would like to extend a special thanks to some of the people who helped make this event happen: Owen and Marilyn O'Brien for coordinating the event and for being longtime financial supporters, and Mark Hayden, head golf professional at The Crosby. Thank you to everyone who participated! Click here to view photos from the event.

  • Pro Kids hosted an appreciation event for everyone who sponsored a bench at Colina Park Golf Course on February 27. Donors played golf with the kids and received a picture frame with an image of kids at their bench and frame.  Special thanks to all the donors: Mark and Carolyn Fischer, Dan Floit, Michael and Deena Flynn, Helene and Larry Fournier, Pam and Yehudi Gaffen, Karen and Jim Glavin, Hal and Debby Jacobs, Marcel Kasmer, Nick and Florenza Krnich, Chad and Susan Morse, Marty and David Pendarvis, Sondra and William Ray, The Singer Family, The Spitcaufsky Family, Debbie and Ernie Wakabayashi, Howard Wright, and Victoria WrightClick here to view photos from the event.
